Marilyn Anderson is an award-winning film & TV writer, produced playwright, and bestselling author. She wrote the Amazon bestseller, “How to Live Like a MILLIONAIRE When You’re a Million Short.” It was featured in Forbes and USA Weekly and won an award as the Best Book on Saving Money & Living Well of the Year. Her humorous relationship book, “NEVER KISS A FROG: A Girl’s Guide to Creatures from the Dating Swamp.” is published in 10 countries. Marilyn is writer-producer of two web series based on her books, and with her dog Boomer, she co-authored “MUTTweiler: An AutoDOGography.” She also co-authored a multicultural mystery-thriller, “Dishonor Thy Father” using the pen name M.J. Richards.
Marilyn is writer-producer of the 2015 family comedy, “How to Beat a Bully,” and co-writer of the romantic comedy, “Making Mr. Right” on Lifetime TV. Her new rom com feature, “Cold Feet,” is scheduled for production in August 2022. Marilyn won a LUMINAS Award from the organization Women in Film for the Positive Depiction of Women in Film & TV, and she was honored by the WGA as writer of one of the 101 Best Written TV Shows of the past seven decades: Murphy Brown. She has also written for FAME, Friday the 13th – the Series, and Sherman Oaks, and she was on the writing staff of Carol & Company, starring Carol Burnett, Jeremy Piven, and Richard Kind.
Ms. Anderson is also an accomplished playwright. Her newest play, “As Good as Gold – A Comedy about Women in Hollywood” was produced in Los Angeles in 2021. In addition, Marilyn is a screenwriting consultant and was a judge for over 15 years for the most important screenwriting contest in the world.
