As the director of education and programs (book marketing programs) for the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), Lee loves empowering indie publishers to have their voices heard. He is also an author of fiction and nonfiction for kids and teens, with an award-winning YA novel (Queer as a Five-Dollar Bill) and a picture book the New York Times called “beautiful” (Red and Green and Blue and White, illustrated by Paul O. Zelinsky.) Lee’s nonfiction for readers age 11 and up (No Way, They Were Gay?) was named a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard selection.
