Jeff Eckert

Jeff Eckert has a Masters in Science Geology and Geophysics from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. Jeff worked with Exxon, ExxonMobil and XTO Energy for over 36 years, where he worked in exploration, development and production of oil and gas. Jeff has lived and worked in Africa, Europe, South America and the U.S. While working in the field, Jeff has been fortunate to find and study many different fossils. During his time in Africa, he traveled to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to view the famous Lucy fossil. Jeff is a well-recognized mentor and enjoys helping other geoscientists learn and explore the many facets of a geology & geophysics career. During his career, he served as an instructor at Exxon and helped teach and mentor early career geologists to explore for and find oil and gas. Jeff recently retired and lives with his wife, Karen, in Spring, Texas. Whenever possible, he heads outdoors to fly fish, hike, camp and ski.
