Amy L Bernstein

Amy L. Bernstein writes stories that let readers feel while making them think. She is an eclectic practitioner of literary arts–a multi-genre novelist, award-winning journalist, speechwriter, playwright, and certified nonfiction book coach. Her poetry has appeared in numerous literary publications and anthologies. Amy also teaches writing workshops and is a frequent guest on podcasts to discuss writing, publishing, and creativity. Her nonfiction book, Wrangling the Doubt Monster: Fighting Fears, Finding Inspiration will be published in September 2024.

When Amy is not writing in total silence (seated at the end of the dining room table in an ergonomic chair that is saving her lower back), she is joyfully engaged in coaching other writers of creative nonfiction, memoir, and occasionally fiction to plan, write, and complete their book and find their best paths to publishing.

And when she’s not busy doing that, she’s probably teaching an online writing course to help demystify some of the aspects of our “craft,” whether that’s figuring out how to write a better second draft or to sharpen dialogue in a novel.

On any given day, Amy strives to balance the self-contained work of being a “writer” with the energy and inspiration that comes from belonging to an international community of writers, all working toward the same goals.
