Carl is an orphan, and has been since he was little. Yet, one day, with the help of his best friend Ivy, he discovers that his parents may still be alive. He immediately leaves on a journey to find them, and bring them back home. But when he gets on a boat with a strange and creepy man, he discovers a hidden world of magic and creatures that he didn’t know existed. He also learns dark and carefully covered up secrets about his family that he wishes he never learned, secrets that might even kill him or ruin his life, as well as destroying the careful balance of the whole world. With the help of his strange, new friends, can Carl find his family and save them before it is too late?
