He wrote 214 consecutive monthly\u00a0columns\u00a0for\u00a0<em>Scientific American.\u00a0<\/em>He appeared on such shows as\u00a0<em>The Colbert Report<\/em>,\u00a0<em>20\/20<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Dateline<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Charlie Rose<\/em>, Oprah, and\u00a0<em>Larry King Live<\/em>\u00a0(but, proudly, never\u00a0<em>Jerry Springer<\/em>!). He has been interviewed in countless documentaries aired on PBS, A&amp;E, Discovery, The History Channel, The Science Channel, and The Learning Channel. Dr. Shermer was the co-host and co-producer of the 13-hour Family Channel television series,\u00a0<em>Exploring the Unknown<\/em>. His\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ted.com\/speakers\/michael_shermer#talks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">two TED talks<\/a>, seen by millions, were voted in the top 100.<\/p><p>Dr. Shermer received his B.A. in psychology from Pepperdine University, M.A. in experimental psychology from California State University, Fullerton, and his Ph.D. in the history of science from Claremont Graduate University.
