Dr. Sheila Forman, a former practicing attorney, has Ph.D. in psychology and is one of the world’s first qualified Mindfulness-Based Eating Awareness Training (MB-EAT) Instructors. Often characterized as having the mind of a lawyer and the heart of a therapist, Dr. Sheila has devoted over twenty years to helping people address weight and food issues by focusing on the emotional aspects of overeating.

In her clinical work, Dr. Sheila became concerned by the lack of progress some of her clients made in differentiating physical and emotional hunger, identifying feelings of fullness, and coping with their emotions without turning to food. She wanted to help them but didn’t know how.

In search of answers, she came across the work of Dr. Jean Kristeller of Indiana State University. Dr. Kristeller is the pioneering researcher in mindfulness-based eating awareness and the author of The Joy of Half a Cookie. Supported by NIH-funded research, MB-EAT is an evidence-based approach to end mindless and emotional eating and alleviate weight concerns by incorporating mindfulness meditation and other mindful skills and techniques.

Dr. Sheila got trained as an MB-EAT Instructor, and her TAME Your Appetite: The Art of Mindful Eating programs are the product of her training. Whether you choose to learn this approach to weight management through a live workshop, online course, or coaching calls, she looks forward to sharing with you what she has learned so that you can go from mindless munching and emotional eating to peace with food and mindful habits.
