Mary Aviyah Farkas holds a Master’s in Science, Nutrition from Tufts University and a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco. As a Registered Dietitian, she spent over 30 years teaching others to care for themselves; inspiring others to create major life transformations. Along the way, she learned at a very deep level how to care for herself. She needed ALL of her caring skill to overcome the abject grief and suicidal thoughts that haunted her after losing the two dearest women in her life, her wife of 18 years, and her sister. She wrote Overcoming Deepest Grief, A Woman’s Journey: Grief, Acceptance, Gratitude and Joy to literally save her life. Aviyah hopes that you read her award winning book to inspire you to become your most authentic, best, and joyful self.
