Lucas Strunc

Hey there, I’m Lucas. I’m a story consultant — I’ve worked on nearly 200 projects ranging from amateur to industry. While my native medium is screenwriting, I’ve lent my skills to all story forms. I have a YouTube channel called LocalScriptMan where I attempt to simplify storytelling and create real, practical writing tools. I began making videos because I was dissatisfied with the landscape of writing discourse. I felt like everybody was repeating the same mantras over and over again without really interrogating them or looking deeper. A lot of young, impressionable storytellers are held hostage by these rules, too insecure to step outside of the grading scale that had been imposed upon them. My hope is to free people of these constraints and provide an honest, pragmatic approach to storytelling. My single biggest asset in this journey has been the enneagram — dismissed by many as a ridiculous personality typing system, I’ve found it to contain a remarkable amount of human truth. More specifically, I think it contains the “cheat codes” to writing character arcs. It has helped me immensely, both in my consulting work and in my personal life. I’m eager to share my thoughts with as many people as possible.
