James Dashner is the author of the #1 New York Times Bestselling Maze Runner series (including The Maze Runner, The Scorch Trials, The Death Cure, The Kill Order, and The Fever Code), and the bestselling Mortality Doctrine series (The Eye of Minds, The Rule of Thoughts, and The Game of Lives).

In 2014, a film adaptation of The Maze Runner was released, followed by another two films in 2015 and 2018. Collectively, the three films grossed an estimated $949 million. The three films’ collective box-office earnings make it the fourth-highest-grossing film series based on young-adult books, after the film series of Harry Potter, The Twilight Saga, and The Hunger Games.

Dashner’s newest series, The Maze Cutter, features beloved characters and descendants from the Maze Runner world set 70 years after the events of The Death Cure.

Dashner was born and raised in Georgia, but now lives and writes in the Rocky Mountains with his wife and their four children. His adult horror novel, The House of Tongues, was inspired by the stories his family told of their run-in with a serial killer. The House of Tongues was his debut novel in the adult genre as well as his first crossover into screenwriting. Dashner enjoys the creativity and freedom that writing in different genres and mediums allows, and has many stories slated ahead for both books and screens.
