Amy M. Le

DSC_5508-Pick-2

Amy M. Le was born in Vietnam nine months before the fall of Saigon and immigrated to the United States at the age of five with her mother and cousin. Like hundreds of thousands of boat people, her family fled Vietnam as refugees of the war to escape persecution. Because Amy was also born with a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD), the escape was extremely perilous and complicated due to her heart condition. In 1980 her family was sponsored to America. After graduating from Western Washington University with a BA in Sociology, Amy served for twenty years in the tech industry before taking the plunge to become a full-time writer. She is the author of the Snow trilogy: Snow in Vietnam, Snow in Seattle, and Snow’s Kitchen. Amy is also the founder of Quill Hawk Publishing and helps authors indie publish their work. To continue her passion for community service, Amy co-founded The Heart Community Collection, an online cooperative bookstore for the CHD community. She also partners with Together For Good Refugee Film School, Healing Hearts Vietnam, the Vietnamese Heritage Museum, the Spero Project, and the Seahawks Booster Clubs. Amy is a member of several organizations including the Asian Author Alliance, the Pacific Northwest Writers Association, Oklahoma City Writers, Inc., Oklahoma Writers Federation, Inc., Telltale Authors, the Yukon Writers’ Society, and the Alliance of Independent Authors (ALLi). For fun, Amy loves to cook, watch NFL, UFC, and F-1 events.
