BookFest Award Winner Spotlight: Robin Korejko: The Spectrum of Storytelling

In children’s books, masks are more than costumes because they often mirror how neurodivergent kids hide parts of themselves to fit in. Storytelling can lift those masks, empower young readers, and reflect the diverse experiences across the neurodivergent spectrum. Drawing from her journey as a reader, parent, and author, Korejko writes with authentic “neuro-spicy” voices that foster connection, compassion, and community. Her story is a heartfelt reminder that books do more than entertain—they also liberate.
