Under the Golden Rain Tree

Under the Golden Rain Tree is the story of Lily, a ten-year-old girl from a village in Northern Thailand. Often bullied due to a disabled hand, she struggles to find her place in her home and village. One day, while escaping a monsoon rain, she discovers a sacred white elephant named Rambu under the branches of a Golden Rain Tree. Lily and Rambu develop a special bond and friendship, giving Lily the confidence and happiness she has longed for. However, she must keep Rambu’s discovery a secret because all white elephants belong to the king. When word gets out around the village that there is a white elephant in the forest, police descend on her village in search of Rambu. With the help of an elderly, blind mahout and her English friend Sandra, Lily must find a way to save Rambu from being taken away from his home.
